Claude, ChatGPT and Grok connect to Wave by signing in. There is no key to copy: you add Wave as a connector, sign in to Wave, and choose what your assistant can do.

You need a Wave company on a paid plan. Admins and members can both connect.

## Claude

1. In Wave, open the account menu, choose **Settings**, then select **Developer**.
2. Under **Connect your AI**, select **Add to Claude**. Claude opens with Wave filled in.
3. Select **Add**, then **Connect**.
4. Sign in to Wave, check what Claude asks for, and select **Allow**. You land back in Claude, connected.

To add it yourself instead, open Claude's **Settings**, then **Connectors**, then **Add custom connector**, and paste:

```text
https://wave-mcp.prod.buildwithwave.com/mcp
```

## ChatGPT and Grok

1. In ChatGPT or Grok, add a custom connector and paste `https://wave-mcp.prod.buildwithwave.com/mcp`.
2. When it asks you to sign in, sign in to Wave and select **Allow**.

The address is also on the Developer tab, under **Connect your AI**, with a **Copy** button.

## What you are allowing

Wave's sign-in page shows who is asking, the person and company it works as, and what it will be able to do:

- **See your work.** Jobs, customers, estimates, notes, photos and drying logs.
- **Make changes.** Create and update jobs, notes, estimates and drying logs. Anything that uses credits asks you first.

Turn **Let it make changes** off to connect read-only. It is the same choice as a [Read or Write key](/docs/developers/read-and-write-keys), and the assistant works with your member access.

## See and disconnect your assistants

In **Settings**, then **Developer**, **Connected assistants** lists each assistant you connected, with its access, when it connected, and when it was last used. Select **Disconnect** to stop it right away.

- An admin sees every connection in the company, with whose it is, and can disconnect any of them.
- Removing Wave from your assistant's own connector list does not disconnect it in Wave. Disconnect it in Wave too.
- When someone leaves the team, their connections stop working.

## If it does not work

- **"Connecting an assistant is available on paid plans."** The company needs a paid plan.
- **"Your company has turned off API access."** An admin can turn it back on.
- **"You already have 10 assistants connected to Wave."** Disconnect one under **Connected assistants**, then connect again.
- **"This connection link has expired."** Start again from your assistant. The sign-in link lasts 10 minutes.

For another assistant, or a script, use an API key instead. See [Quick start](/docs/developers/quick-start).
