Open it with **Jobs** in the top bar. Every active job appears as a card in the column for its stage, and each card shows the job's name, loss type, address and when it last changed. Click a card to open the job. ## The five stages - **New**: the job exists, and nobody has started an estimate yet. - **Estimating**: the job's first estimate is underway. - **Sent**: for jobs whose estimate has gone out. Your team moves jobs here. - **In Progress**: for jobs the crew is working. Your team moves jobs here. - **Completed**: the job's first estimate is finished, or your team marked the job done. Each column header shows how many jobs are in that stage. In a long column, use the button at the bottom to load more cards. ## Move a job to another stage You can move a job in any of these ways: - **Drag the card** to another column, or to a new spot in the same column. To move several jobs together, drag across empty board space to box-select them, then drag the group. Hold Space while dragging to pan a wide board instead. - **Use the keyboard.** Tab to the board and use the arrow keys to select a card. Shift plus an arrow adds the next card to the selection. Press ⌘ (Ctrl on Windows) plus an arrow to move the selected jobs one column left or right, or up and down within the column. Esc clears the selection. - **Use the job's status control.** Inside a job, the status pill in the header shows the current stage. Click it and pick a stage under **Job status**. - **Tell Wave.** Type something like *"move the Park job to In Progress"* in the command box on Home or at the bottom of the board. On a phone, the stages stack in one list. Press and hold a card, then drag it to another stage. The status pill inside a job is a desktop control, so on a phone use the board or tell Wave. ## How the first estimate moves a job Wave moves a job along on its own in two cases, both tied to the job's first estimate: 1. When the first estimate is created, a job in **New** moves to **Estimating**. 2. When that estimate is finished, a job in **New** or **Estimating** moves to **Completed**. An estimate counts as finished when Wave finishes building it or the first time you export it. Wave never moves a job backwards, and it never moves a job someone already moved further along. A job you put in **Sent** or **In Progress** stays there. Other estimates on the same job never change its stage. You can always move the job yourself afterward. ## Filter the board The filter chips above the board narrow what you see: - **All active**: the full board, every stage. This is where the board opens. - **A single stage**: only that stage's jobs, laid out as a grid. You can also click **Expand** in a column header. - **Cancelled**: jobs that were cancelled. They are off the board but not gone. Each chip shows its job count. On a phone, the same choices sit in one dropdown at the top. ## Hide columns you don't need If your team rarely looks at **Completed**, hide it. Click **Columns** beside the filters and untick the stages you want off the board. **Show every column** brings them all back. At least one column always stays visible. Hidden columns are your own view. They don't change any job, your teammates don't see your choice, and they are remembered in this browser only. The filter itself is not saved: the board opens on **All active** each time, and filters are not part of the page address, so you can't bookmark or share a filtered view. ## Find a job fast Click the search bar in the top bar, or press ⌘K (Ctrl+K). Type part of a customer name, an address, the job name or its job number. Results show each job's number and stage. Search covers active jobs. To find a cancelled job, use the **Cancelled** filter. ## Cancelled and archived jobs There is no cancel button on the board. To cancel a job, tell Wave, with a reason: *"cancel the Park job, the customer went with another company."* The job moves to the **Cancelled** filter, and its future appointments are cancelled too. To bring it back, ask Wave to reopen it. It returns to the stage it was in. An admin can also say *"delete this job"*. Wave archives it: the job leaves every board and search. Archiving has no Undo, and restoring an archived job takes a request to support. If you're not sure, cancel instead.
