Slack notifications
Connect Slack once and Wave posts to a channel you choose when a job is created, an estimate starts, or someone adds a note. Admins set it up on any paid plan.
Connect Slack and Wave posts a message to one channel in your workspace when work happens in Wave: a new job, a new estimate, or a new note. The office sees what the field is doing without opening Wave, and every message has an Open in Wave button that goes straight to the job.
Who can connect Slack
- Admins only. Slack lives in Settings → Integrations, which only admins see.
- Any paid plan. Slack notifications are not part of the free trial. On the trial, the Slack card says they come with any paid plan and offers See plans.
If your company's paid plan ends, the messages stop.
Connect Slack and choose a channel
- Open the account menu and choose Settings, then the Integrations tab.
- On the Slack card, click Connect Slack.
- Slack opens its own screen. Pick the workspace channel Wave should post to and allow the connection.
- Slack sends you back to Wave.
Open Settings → Integrations again and the Slack card shows Connected, the channel and your workspace name. The channel is chosen on Slack's screen, not in Wave, so Wave never sees your list of channels.
If you cancel on Slack's screen, nothing is linked.
Choose what Wave posts
Once you're connected, a What Wave posts section lists three switches. Each one saves as soon as you flip it.

Job and estimate messages name the job number, customer, address and who created it, and the kind of estimate when one started. When a job and its estimate start in the same step and both switches are on, Wave posts one message for the job that says the estimate started, instead of two.
A New note message posts the note text itself, along with the job and who added it. Anyone in the channel can read it, so pick a channel whose members should see your job notes before you turn this on. On a phone's lock screen, the Slack alert shows only that a note was added. The text appears when someone opens Slack.
Wave posts only these three kinds of messages.
Change the channel
Slack ties the connection to the channel you picked, so changing it means connecting again:
- Click Disconnect on the Slack card, then click again to confirm.
- Click Reconnect and pick the new channel on Slack's screen.
Your switch settings are kept, so you don't have to set them again.
Disconnect
Click Disconnect on the Slack card, then click again to confirm. The second click is there so a stray tap doesn't cut the connection. Messages stop right away.
Afterward the card says the connection ended and the button reads Reconnect. Reconnecting brings back the switch settings you had.
