Rename a room
Click the room name in the right pane to enter rename mode. ✓ saves, ✗ cancels. Same pattern works for the room dropdown label.

Renaming a room is a right-pane action. Useful when Wave's auto-generated room label doesn't match what you'd put on the carrier-facing estimate ("Hall Bathroom" vs. "Powder Room").
How to rename
- In the right pane, click directly on the room name (the section header).
- The name turns into an editable input.
- Type the new name.
- Click ✓ to save, or ✗ to cancel without saving.
The same pattern works inside any dropdown that exposes a room name as its label.
What renaming does
- Updates the section header in the right pane
- Updates the line-item display name on every line tied to that room
- Updates the PDF when you export
- Does not change the line items themselves, just the room label they live under
What renaming doesn't do
- It doesn't trigger a re-interview. The line items stay as they were.
- It doesn't change the affected-room data Wave inferred at intake. If you renamed a "hall bathroom" to "powder room" but it's actually a different room with different surfaces, you want to delete that room and add a new one — not just rename.
