Change your plan

Profile Settings → Billings → Manage Plan hands off to Stripe's customer portal. That's where you change plan, update your payment method, see invoices, and cancel. Admins only.

Plan changes happen outside Wave. Clicking Manage Plan in your Wave billing settings opens the Stripe customer portal, and everything plan-related lives there.

How it works

  1. Open Profile Settings → Billings.
  2. Click Manage Plan.
  3. Wave hands off to Stripe's customer portal in a new tab.
  4. From the Stripe portal you can:
    • Change plan — switch tiers (e.g., Pro → Growth, Growth → Ultra)
    • Switch billing cadence — monthly ↔ annual
    • Update your payment method
    • View and download invoices
    • Cancel

When you're done, Wave reflects the change automatically — there's nothing to confirm back in the app.

Who can do this

Admins only. Members don't see the Billings tab. If you're a Member and your team needs a plan change, ping an Admin.

What Stripe handles

Stripe's customer portal is the source of truth for everything billing-related — proration on upgrades, end-of-period timing on downgrades and cancellations, payment retries on failed charges, and tax handling. We don't reimplement any of that in Wave; the portal is the canonical interface.

If something goes wrong with a charge or refund, work through the portal first. If you still need help, contact us.

Picking a tier

This page is the how — for the which-tier-to-choose question, see Plans and limits. The big differences are the Free vs. Paid caps:

  • Free: 3 estimates total, 5 chat edits per estimate, no PDF export
  • Paid: unlimited estimates, unlimited chat edits, PDF export enabled
