Estimates
Reorder rooms and line items
Drag the handle on the left of any row or section header to reorder. The General section is pinned to the top — it doesn't move.
The right pane uses drag-and-drop for ordering. Useful when you want the estimate PDF to read in a specific order — for example, leading with the area that took the most damage.
What can be reordered
- Line items — reorder within their section (whether that's General or a room)
- Rooms — reorder by dragging the section header on the right pane
That's it. Photos, FNOL fields, and the cross-section ordering of General relative to rooms are all fixed.
How to reorder
- Hover over the row or section header you want to move.
- Grab the drag handle on the left side of the row.
- Drop it into the new position.
The General section is pinned
The General section stays at the top of the estimate. It can't be dragged into a different position.
This is by design — General holds the cross-cutting line items (PPE, containment, documentation) that aren't tied to a specific room. Putting it first makes the PDF read consistently across every estimate you produce.
What reordering does
- Updates the order in the right pane
- Updates the order in the exported PDF
- Does not change pricing, quantities, or any line-item details — purely cosmetic
Known persistence bug
Reorder doesn't always persist across page reloads. If you leave the estimate and come back later, the order may have reverted to the original. Reorder and export in the same session — the PDF captures the order currently displayed, so the customer / adjuster still sees the order you intended. See Known issues.
