Reorder rooms and line items
Drag the handle on the left of any row to reorder line items, or drag a room header to reorder rooms. Order persists and carries into the PDF.
The estimate canvas supports drag-and-drop ordering. Useful when you want the PDF to read in a specific order, for example leading with the area that took the most damage.
Reorder line items
- Hover over the row you want to move.
- Grab the drag handle at the left of the row.
- Drop it where you want it within its section.
Prefer the keyboard? With an item selected, ⌘↑ / ⌘↓ (Ctrl+↑ / Ctrl+↓) move it up or down.
Move several items at once
Select multiple rows first (Shift+click for a range, ⌘-click to toggle individual rows), then drag. The whole selection moves as a block, and a drop line shows exactly where it will land. See Select and bulk edit.
Moving items to a different room
Items can't be dragged from one room into another. To relocate an item, right-click it and choose Move to with the destination room. See Move items between rooms.
Reorder rooms
Drag a room header to reorder rooms. To jump between rooms by keyboard, press R for the next room and Shift+R for the previous one.
The General section is pinned
The General section stays at the top of the estimate. It can't be dragged into a different position.
General holds the cross-cutting line items that aren't tied to a specific room. Keeping it first makes every PDF you produce read consistently.
What reordering does
- Updates the order on the estimate canvas
- Persists: the order is saved and stays put when you come back later
- Carries into the exported PDF
- Does not change pricing, quantities, or any line-item details
