Reorder rooms and line items
Put the most important rooms and line items first. Drag to reorder on the Estimates tab and Wave carries the order into your PDF.
Lead your PDF with the area that took the most damage. Drag rooms and line items into the order you want, and Wave saves it and carries it into the export.
Reordering happens on the estimate: open Jobs, open the job, and go to the Estimates tab. Reordering pauses while the estimate is locked or while Wave is working on it.
Reorder line items
- Hover over the row you want to move.
- Grab the drag handle at the left of the row.
- Drop it where you want it within its room.
Prefer the keyboard? With an item selected, press ⌘↑ or ⌘↓ (Ctrl+↑ or Ctrl+↓) to move it up or down.
On a phone, each line item is a card with its own drag handle. Press and hold the handle, then drag the card up or down within its room.
Move several items at once
On desktop, select multiple rows first (Shift+click for a range, ⌘+click to toggle individual rows), then drag. The whole selection moves as a block, and a drop line shows where it will go. See Select and bulk edit line items.
Move items to a different room
To move an item to another room, right-click it, choose Move to room, then pick the destination. See Move or copy line items between rooms.
Reorder rooms
There are two ways to reorder rooms:
- Drag a room by the drag handle that appears when you hover its header (desktop).
- Use the Room actions menu. Click the ⋮ on the right of the room header and choose Move up or Move down. This is the way to reorder rooms on a phone.
To jump between rooms, press R for the next room and Shift+R for the previous one.
The General section
General holds the job-wide line items that aren't tied to a specific room. It starts at the top of the estimate.
You can move General too. It has its own drag handle, and its Room actions menu has Move up and Move down. Wave saves where you put it, the same as your rooms.
Reordering changes only the order. Pricing, quantities and line-item details stay as they are.
