Use Wave in your language

You do not have to work in English to work in Wave. Wave works in English, Spanish and French.

Just start typing

Write to Wave in Spanish or French. There is no language setting to change: write the way you speak, and Wave replies in the same language. This works everywhere you talk to Wave, from the box on Home to the job's Wave chat and the Chat page. Scoping a loss, making changes after the estimate is built, and asking questions all work the same way.

Voice input works with this too. Speak your description, review the transcription, and send. See Use voice input.

What comes in your language

• Wave's replies. Answers, questions and confirmations come back in the language you wrote in.
• Tap-to-answer choices. The buttons Wave offers with its questions come in your language, including its own choices, such as what to do with an Xactimate export (.ESX) you drop in the chat, or an offer to start the next estimate for the job.
• Drying readings. On plans that include drying logs, you can tell Wave the day's readings in the job chat in Spanish or French, typed or dictated. See Record drying readings.

If you write in a language other than English, Spanish or French, Wave's own choice buttons fall back to English.

What stays in English

• App menus and labels. Tabs, buttons, settings and the rest of the app stay in English.
• Line item names. The line items on the job's Estimates tab and in your exports stay in English, whatever language you chat in.

The line items are deliberate. Estimates get read by adjusters, carriers, contractors and customers, and industry-standard English descriptions are what they expect. You get the conversation in your language and a report that reads like every other professional estimate. See Export reports.
