Delete a line item

Take a line off in whichever way is quickest: the keyboard, the mouse, a phone or a plain request to Wave. Totals reprice right away, and you can undo a delete.

Deletes happen on the estimate: open Jobs, open the job, and go to the Estimates tab. Deleting is available when the estimate is unlocked and Wave isn't updating it.

From the keyboard

1. Select the row.
2. Press D, Delete or Backspace.
3. Confirm in the Delete line item? dialog.

With the mouse

• Row actions menu: click the ⋮ on the row and choose Delete.
• Right-click: right-click the line item and choose Delete.

Both paths ask you to confirm before removing the line.

On a phone

Line items show as cards. Tap the card's Row actions menu (⋮), choose Delete, and confirm.

Delete several at once

On desktop, select several rows first: Shift+click for a range, ⌘-click (Ctrl-click) to toggle individual rows, or ⌘A (Ctrl+A) to select all line items. Then press D (or Delete or Backspace), or right-click the selection and choose Delete N items. One confirm removes the whole set. See Select and bulk edit.

By asking Wave

Tell Wave to take the line off, naming the room for room-scoped lines:

"Take the cover register off the hall bathroom."

"Take the floor protection line off the hallway."

What gets deleted

• The line item itself
• Any note attached to it
• The line's contribution to the totals

Changed your mind?

On desktop, press ⌘Z (Ctrl+Z) or use the undo arrow in the job header. Undo puts the line back in the same place, so an accidental delete is one keystroke from restored. See Undo and redo.
