Upload and tag photos

Attach photos with the paperclip in chat or add them on the Files tab. Photos are tagged by room and can be included in the exported PDF.

Photos live on the estimate's Files tab, tagged by room, and can be included in the exported PDF. Two ways to get them in.

Attach from chat

Click the paperclip in the chat panel (or drag photos in) and send. You can ask Wave about what's in them — see Ask Wave about photos. Photos attached in chat land on the Files tab under Other, untagged; use Move to room… on a photo to tag it afterward.

Add from the Files tab

Open the Files tab in the estimate workspace and add photos there — they're tagged to a room as part of the upload. Same destination, just a different door. See The Files tab for everything else that lives there (PDFs and videos included).

Tagged by room

Photos are organized by the room they belong to, which is also how they're grouped and captioned on the PDF. On multi-unit estimates, photo captions carry the unit as well as the room, so "Kitchen (Unit 2B)" photos stay distinct from "Kitchen (Unit 3A)" photos. See Multi-unit estimates.

The exported document can include your photos; there's an include-photos toggle when you export, and the Full Document type carries cover page, estimate, and photos together. See Customize reports.

Photos never edit your estimate on their own

Wave can look at a photo and tell you what it sees — but a photo never silently changes your scope or pricing. If Wave spots a difference between a photo and the estimate, it proposes the change in chat and you confirm it. The scoping conversation stays the source of truth. See Ask Wave about photos.
