Estimates
Download photos
Open the Documentation Photos kebab → Download to enter selection mode, tick the photos you want (or Select All), then Download All. Files are renamed using room name + upload date + time.
You'll download photos when you need to hand the carrier or insured a clean photo set separate from the estimate PDF. The flow is selection-based — pick the photos you want, then download.
Open download mode
- Find the Documentation Photos block in the right pane.
- Click the kebab (three dots at the top-right of the block, next to + Upload).
- Choose Download.
The photo grid switches into selection mode: each thumbnail gets a checkbox overlay, and a selection bar appears at the top reading "Select All (0 selected)" on the left and Cancel on the right.
Pick photos
As soon as at least one photo is selected, the Download All button activates on the right side of the selection bar.
Three common patterns:
- Download everything on the estimate — click Select All (or its checkbox) → Download All.
- Download a subset — tick individual photos → Download All.
- Abandon — click Cancel in the selection bar to leave selection mode without downloading anything.
What you get
Files are renamed on download for consistency across the whole estimate. The pattern uses the photo's room tag plus the upload date and time — so a hall bathroom photo downloads with a filename that includes "Hall Bathroom" and its upload timestamp, regardless of what the original device named it (IMG_4291.jpg becomes something readable).
This makes it straightforward to assemble a clean photo set for an adjuster without manually renaming anything on your end.
PDF export is a separate operation
Downloading photos doesn't generate a PDF. Exporting a PDF doesn't separately download the photos.
The exported PDF includes the photos inline — cover page → line items → notes → totals → captioned photos. If the carrier wants both, you do both operations.
For the PDF, see Export to PDF.
Deleting photos uses the same kebab
The Documentation Photos kebab also has a Delete action (in red). It uses the same selection-based flow — open the kebab → Delete → tick the photos you want to remove → confirm. This is the workaround when a photo got tagged to the wrong room and the wrong caption matters for the PDF (re-upload with the correct tag).
What you still can't do today
- Reorder photos within a room — captions are derived from upload order within the room tag
- Re-caption an individual photo — captions are auto-generated from the room tag ("Hall Bathroom 1," "Hall Bathroom 2," etc.)
