Limits and file sizes
The size and count limits in Wave: message length, voice recordings, files on Home, in chat and on the Files tab, Xactimate exports, job fields, invitations, guideline PDFs and share-link comments.
This page collects the limits you might run into in Wave. When you hit one, Wave tells you on screen.
Messages and voice

20,000 characters is enough for a long site walk or several pages of pasted notes. If a message runs over, Wave holds the send and tells you how many messages to split it into. Everything you typed stays in the box.
While you record, the sound bars turn red as you near the 90-second mark, and at the limit the recording stops on its own and your words are added to the draft. For a longer walk-through, record several takes. Each one is added to the same draft before you send. See Use voice input.
Files on Home and in the job chat
This applies to the command box on Home and to the chat beside a job's Overview, Notes, Files and Drying tabs.

You can send files with no words. Files you send are kept on the job.
Files in chat while an estimate is open
When the chat is working on an estimate (on the job's Estimates tab), and on the Chat page in the top bar, the limits are per message:

Uploads keep going if you switch to another tab of the job. See Job files.
Estimates per job
A job holds one estimate per kind of work, for example one water estimate and one repairs estimate. Each new estimate uses one credit, and duplicating an estimate is free. See Several estimates on one job and How estimate credits work.

A note that runs over the limit can be posted as several notes. Wave tells you how many.
Invitations
An invitation link works for 7 days. If it expires, an Admin can resend it from Settings > Team, which sends a fresh link. See Invite a teammate.
Guideline PDFs
Each carrier or TPA guideline PDF you upload can be up to 20 MB. See Set up carrier guidelines.
Share-link comments
A comment on a collaborator share link can be up to 2,000 characters. Share links don't expire. To cut off access, replace the link or stop sharing. See Comment on line items.
