Ask Wave about past jobs

Recall an earlier job in chat by customer or address. Wave shows its scope and total, and can re-scope a similar loss for the job you're on.

Wave can look up your company's recent estimates, and you can ask about them in plain language while you work on a job.

Recall a past job

In the Wave chat beside a job, ask by customer name or address. For example:

"pull up the Garza job"

"what did we do for the Smiths?"

Wave finds the matching estimate and tells you:

  • the customer and the date
  • the grand total
  • for each room, the scope and the items used

Recall doesn't show line-by-line quantities or prices. Those belonged to that job's rooms. To see the full estimate, open the job itself (see below).

If more than one estimate matches, Wave asks which one you mean. Recall is read-only: asking about a past job never changes it. Wave also never recalls the job you're on.

Scope a new job like an old one

Working a loss that looks like one you've done before? Say so:

"scope this like the Garza job"

Wave takes the earlier job's scope and applies it to the estimate you're on. It works out quantities from this job's measurements and prices them for this job's region. It never copies the old quantities or prices, because they fit different rooms. What Wave adds goes on top of your estimate. Nothing already there is replaced.

What this is good for

  • Answering a callback. A customer or adjuster calls about a job from last month. Ask Wave for it by name and you have the scope in front of you while you talk.
  • Scoping a similar loss. Point Wave at the earlier job and let it re-scope that work for the new rooms.

Open a past job directly

To see a past job in full, open it:

  • Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) or click the search box in the top bar, Search jobs or commands…. Type the job name, job number, customer or address. Search finds active jobs.
  • Or find the job on the Jobs board.

Recall or Duplicate?

Duplicate an estimate makes a free copy of an estimate on the same job, from Job actions (⋮) > Duplicate. It doesn't bring an estimate over to a different job. For a new job that looks like an old one, recall the old job in chat and let Wave re-scope it.
