Drying Logs (Beta)
About drying logs
Wave drafts a suggested drying plan for your job. You record the real readings and stay in full control of the log.
Beta: Drying logs are in beta and available on select plans. Details may change as we improve the feature.
A drying log is the daily record that shows a water loss was dried properly: what the conditions were, what equipment ran, and how the structure progressed day by day. Adjusters expect one, and writing it by hand is tedious.
Wave gives you a head start. When you generate a drying log, Wave drafts a suggested plan from the details already in your estimate: the affected rooms, the water category, the equipment on the job, and local weather conditions.
Targets are a baseline, not a verdict
The plan lays out daily targets for temperature, relative humidity, and moisture. Treat them as a baseline to work from:
- You take the real readings. The log is built on what your meters say in the field, not on the plan.
- You can edit anything. Adjust the plan's setup, change equipment, or correct any value so the log reflects the job as it actually ran.
- Wave never changes a reading you entered. Recorded readings are yours. Regenerating or adjusting the plan never touches them.
Wave's suggestions do not replace your professional judgment. If the structure is drying differently than the plan expected, trust your meters, record what you see, and adjust the plan.
What you get
- A chamber-by-day grid: drying zones as rows, days as columns, with suggested targets shown lightly and your recorded readings shown clearly.
- Equipment suggestions sized from room dimensions and water category.
- Helpful flags when readings suggest something is off, like humidity staying high after the first day.
- A drying log PDF you can export on its own or combined with the estimate.
Where to find it
Open any estimate and select the Drying tab. If your plan does not include drying logs yet, the tab shows an upgrade path.
